What Travian is
Travian: Legends is a browser strategy game by Travian Games, first released in 2004. Players pick a tribe such as the Romans, Gauls or Teutons, grow villages, raid and conquer each other, and play in alliances. A game world runs for a set time and ends when an alliance completes a Wonder of the World to level 100; then a new round begins.
What Crownforge shares with it
Resources, building queues and research that run on the server while you are away. An army to train, an alliance to coordinate with, and a browser as the only thing you need.
What is different
Mild PvP. Troops are not lost permanently and castles do not burn. There is no night watch and no farming of inactive neighbours.
No round to restart. The Crownforge world has no planned end date like a Travian round; seasons bring new goals, not a fresh start.
A city you can watch grow. Every building has 30 levels in six visual stages with animated rebuilds, in a 2.5D cartoon style that reads well on a phone.
Heroes and dragons fight together: six heroes with bonds, three dragons that hatch and grow. Every week a raid of 20 waves tests your walls.
When Travian is the better choice
If what you love is the tension of real conquest, timing attacks to the second and racing for the Wonder with your alliance, Travian does that better. It is built for that kind of competition. Crownforge is for players who like the planning and want to keep building the same kingdom.
